2015-10-24 and 25 at the City of Rocks

In late October Carly and I made a trip up to the City of Rocks.  Carly had a bug to do some leading on some safe, moderate climbs.  The City and Castle Rocks have some of those.  I got guided up Theater of Shadows (5.7) on Steifell’s Dome on Saturday and Sunday we swapped leads on Big Time (5.7) at Castle Rock.  It was great to see Carly being more excited to lead and doing really well at it.  I’m looking forward to when she’s done with her MBA and we can really get after it.

Rock City has pretty decent pizza, but we decided to make some of our own at camp. Nailed it.
On the ride home from a great weekend in the City of Rocks we had one of the best sunsets I've seen in a long time.

Trees are pretty nice, but they can block the view sometimes.
We were headed east out of Malta with Carly driving. I happened to look in the side view mirror and noticed the sky was on fire. We pulled over immediately and took some shots. One of the most enjoyable sunsets in a long time.
