2024-04-26 Lone Pine

After Joshua Tree I headed north towards Lone Pine. These would be my bridge locations before meeting Andreas on Saturday the 27th for more riding. Carly and I were in Lone Pine, CA a few years ago when we did our Sierras road trip. Lone Pine is the gateway for accessing Mt. Whiney.

Seeing Whitney in late spring is cool. The peak is still snowy as are most of the nearby peaks. The weather also cooled off from the previous few days and I actually got a little flurry of snow in the morning of the 26th. My main activities were some running up the Lone Pine Creek drainage and riding around the Alabama Hills. The views from both were fantastic, particularly since there were clouds and flurries swirling in the peaks all day.

From snow to heat, next up 4 days of riding in Death Valley.
